Introducing The Hut – the R.M.Williams travelling workshop

From our leather workshop to your home

The brakes may have been put on R.M.Williams’ mobile workshop The Hut’ for now, but we’re excited to announce that its mission to travel across Australia to bring the world’s finest leathers and craftsmanship techniques to our passionate RM community will continue in the form of a new brand platform series, A Bushman’s Craft.

Proving that excellence never goes out of style, the Bushman’s Craft new venture is based on RM’s book Bushman’s Handcrafts, a how-to craftsperson’s guide that was released in 1943 and to this day remains the blueprint for world-renowned craftsmanship that is undeniably R.M.Williams.

Our Head of Heritage and Heartland Marketing, Terry, hosts the series through a range of videos taking you on a craftsmanship journey.

Meet Terry

After meeting with RM in 2001, which included a sketch of an idea that would eventually become the iconic Longhorn Express, Terry was convinced to join the company, becoming a close friend of RM himself in the process.

On the road with The Hut

After the iconic Longhorn Express hung up its reins in 2018 for a well-earned rest after travelling 1,000,000 miles, R.M.Williams launched The Hut – a one-of-a-kind travelling leather workshop.
