Burnished leatherOur burnished leather begins as a full-grain cowhide tanned using chromium salts, resulting in a soft, durable, and flexible material. Left unfinished after tanning, it allows for custom dyeing or polishing using a European 'burnishing' technique, in which colour is applied to the crust leather by hand. The result is a leather with a rich patina and an artisanal look.

Goodyear weltIn this artisanal process, a strip of durable leather is stitched between the upper and sole of the boot, providing a barrier against water and mud whilst making the boot fully repairable.

Cleaning
Get the best out of your boots by keeping them clean. Look after your boots and they'll look after you.
- Only clean lightly with a damp cloth.
- Note: do not use any leather cleaner or conditioner. Leather conditioner will drastically alter the appearance of the burnished boots and will darken aniline leathers due to the unprotected finish of the leather.
Polishing
Use R.M.Williams Stockman's Natural Boot Polish regularly to protect and maintain the look of your boots.
- Apply R.M.Williams Stockman's Natural Boot Polish with a clean cloth and rub in well.
- Allow polish to rest on the surface and penetrate leather for a minute.
- Finish with a buffing brush to obtain a high shine.
- Note: when you polish your boots the first couple of times, a small amount of excess dye may come off this will not affect the overall finish.

When selecting your size, please note that R.M.Williams boots are crafted using men's UK footwear sizing. Our mens's boots can come in a range of fittings: F, G, H, and X detailed below:
• F = Narrow
• G = Regular
• H = Wide
• X = Extra Wide
Each fitting within the same size varies by approximately 0.64cm or 1/4” in foot width. To find your ideal fit, please refer to the ‘Width' tab.

Measuring guide
A step by step guide on how to find your perfect size.

Follow these easy steps to get the right size. For the best fit, wear the socks you would usually wear with boots.

Step 1 Place your foot on a piece of paper. Mark the points at the back of the heel & big toe. Use a tape measure to measure the length in-between. This will give you boot size.

Step 2 Measure around your foot at it's widest point (just below the toes). Wrap the tape measure around your foot completely. This will give you your width measurement.

Step 3 Do the same for the other foot.

Step 4 Match the width & length measurements of your larger foot against our size chart. If you're in-between 2 fits or sizes, go with the larger one.
